of listening to people talk about Albany politics,
jurors may have turned to the dark side and started treating each
other not so nicely — and less than two hours after jury deliberations for the Silver trial began on Tuesday.
The government's final witness was FBI special agent Deanna Pennetta, a certified public accountant who prepared a number
of spreadsheets and diagrams based on business records, phone calls and
other documents related to Silver that the
jurors will be able to review as evidence.
Last week, a woman asked to be removed from the panel trying former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, saying
other jurors were bullying her over difference
of opinion.
In addition, prosecutors and defense attorneys occasionally would confer with each
other, as the prosecutors and the defense hammered down the specifics
of a jury charge — the instructions Azrack will give
jurors before they begin deliberations.
