If you're planning on returning to work, we recommend getting used to a
pumping routine a few weeks ahead
of time so your body can adjust to using the
pump and so you have time to make sure that you're using the best settings and properly sized breastshields to yield the most milk output.
By getting into a good
pumping routine and sticking to it, I was able to maximize my milk production while trimming down the amount
of time that I actually spent on the
pump.
When I switched to exclusive
pumping, it was very hard for me to give up those dreams and my expectations
of how I thought our feeding
routine would look.
Breast

pumping rights, build a freezer stash, have someone else practice giving your baby a bottle, be sure your care provider knows how to do paced bottle feeding, and give yourself plenty
of time to get into this new
routine.

By the end
of the second week I had settled into a
