Roast in a preheated 375 degree F. oven for 7 to 10 minutes or until the seeds are lightly browned and crispy.You can garnish this soup with a variety
of different options such as a dollop
of light sour cream, a spoonful

The
roasting of the
pear and squash together makes my mouth water, Allison!
right now I use sun flower or pepita seeds (lightly
roasted first for flavor in my cast iron pan) and I add one
pear & some carob powder for flavor (not chocolatey, just a bit
of goodness).
To make this vegetarian, omit the bacon and toss the squash and
pears with the brown sugar and chili powder during the last 5 minutes
of roasting.

Roast for another 10 - 15 min at the top
of the oven, making sure that the
pears do not burn but gently caramelise.
Our first course
of the meal would be a
roasted Brussels Sprout Salad, with Black Pig Bacon, Asian
pear, Marcona Almonds, Aged Sherry Vinegar, and Bohemian Creamery «Capriago», an asiago - style cheese made from goat milk and aged between 8 and 10 weeks.
