This one can really be either — although I have to say that the melty, caramelized sweetness
of the roasted yam is delicious.

Given that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I decided to adapt the appetizer to use
roasted yams instead
of blinis.

of Turkey, my grandma's amazing mashed

roasted parsnip, stuffing (though it isn't my favourite), brownies (because I make the most decadent brownies that appear at every holiday) and
of course lots and lots
of pies!
This sauce is not only great on salads and vegetables but also really nice with grilled chicken or white fish, as a dipping sauce for
roasted potatoes and
yam fries, added to vegetable soups or just smothered on a chunk
of sourdough.
They add an earthy sweetness to this mix
of roasted vegetables that also includes butternut squash, russets, and
yams.
My favorite salad to eat out
of this far includes: 3 - 4 cups massaged kale, spinach and romaine in lemon juice, with my Sweet «n» Spicy Miso Dressing, cumin,
roasted broccoli,
roasted beets, diced celery and fennel, and 2
roasted purple flesh Japanese sweet potatoes or 1 extra large Garnet
yam.
Naomi, our pescetarian, ordered the Fish
of the Day, the Snapper which had Asian spices and was served over
roasted yams and some greens.
