What I would suggest though, for next time is to stir the
rum into the mixture before adding it to the ice cream maker and then adding just the
raisins during the last few minutes
of churning.

Put the
raisins in a small bowl and pour over 3 tbsp
of the
rum.
At the last minute, add the soaked
raisins and an extra 2 - 3 tbsp
of rum.
Ingredients: Cake 3 cups cake flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves 1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup buttermilk 2 tablespoons

You can basically enrich the recipe by adding Turkish delight,
raisins, nuts, almonds, coconut flakes, whatever you feel might work well with the
rum - chocolate biscuit base
of the dessert.
Add 3 - 4 drops
of orange essence or oil to taste in one bowl, mix in
raisins soaked in
rum in another bowl and add around 20 - 30g chopped hazelnuts into the third bowl
I've also made some with coconut,
rum and
raisin as I seem to have a pot
of raisins by my stove that I top up regularly with some
rum, ready for any occasion.
The only difference is that you need to soak your
raisins in
rum ahead
of time.
