It's not the kind
of place where you'll
see a vast amount
of huge marine life like
manta rays or whale sharks, but anyone interested in nudibrachs, corals, and anemones should consider a dive in Grenada.
More than 3,000 species
of sea creatures have been observed in the warm tropical waters around the island: When you're diving at Sipadan it's not a question
of whether you'll
see large pelagic species like
manta rays, sea turtles, barracuda and sharks, but how many.
Home to 1000 types
of coral, fish,
manta rays and sharks you probably won't
see anywhere else, it can easily stake a claim for one
of the best dive spots in the world.
You will also
see a varied species
of sharks and
manta rays.
Among the Turtles we often encounter banded sea snakes, nudiebranchs, lionfish
of many variations, scorpionfish, leaf scorpionfish, white reef sharks and on the lucky days we
see mantas, eagle
rays and yes whale sharks!!!

The diversity
of marine life is exceptional and Bali provides one
of the few opportunities for divers to

manta rays and other large pelagics — but diving in Bali is not only for «big fish» enthusiasts, macro divers have a selection
of treats awaiting them too — the pygmy sea horse, frogfishes, ghost pipe fish and a plethora
of nudibranch species to name but a few can all be found on Bali's fringing coral reefs.
This strip
of ocean is famed for being home to a number
of manta rays as well as sharks, and visitors can dive right into the water and
see these harmless creatures in their natural habitat.
Occasionally in the months
of December to February giant
manta rays can be
seen gliding close to the surface.
The megastars
of this underwater show are undoubtedly the curious mola mola (oceanic sunfish), which cruise through between July and October, and the graceful
manta rays, which can be
seen year round.
When diving here, you can
see eleven different species
of sharks, 479 species
of fish, and large pelagics such as jacks,
manta ray, tuna, and whale sharks.It also has the highest population density for white tip reef sharks!
However, when it can be dived and currents are swift, divers get to experience a drift that attracts the big schools
of fish, which in turn attract Caribbean reef sharks; the occasional hammerhead,
mantas, schooling eagle
rays in groups
of up to 40 or 50, and lots
of other pelagic life not normally
seen in calmer areas.
If you like to
see large schools
of jacks and barracudas, sting
rays and
manta rays, and if you like sharks, you will enjoy your dives here.

of fish,
manta rays, sea turtles, and eels.

of the marine species you're likely to
see during the boat ride to the island.
During the end
of February, the currents get stronger which increases your chances
of seeing large marine creatures like
manta rays and sharks.
During your dives here, expect to
see lots
of sharks (reef and leopard), turtles,
manta rays, giant groupers, and barracudas.
The
manta ray and spotted eagle
ray are fairly common, and the diver can reasonably expect to
see one
of these magnificent creatures during his visit.
You also can
see the stunning view
of Nusa Penida Cliffs and if you lucky you can
see Manta rays swimming around from top
of cliff where you stand to
see them with careful and curiosity.
In Mexico,
manta rays have begun to appear in increasing numbers in the same location where the large aggregation
of whale sharks show up every summer to feed (
see our whale shark section for more details).
The highlight
of the southern dive sites however is the chance to
see the
manta rays feeding in the shallows or being cleaned by the reef fish.
The highlights
of our stay in Puerto Escondido were both animal related —
seeing jumping
manta rays and releasing the cutest baby turtles into the sea.
Turtles are regularly
seen here and there is good chance
of seeing manta and large spotted eagle
rays.
We sometimes
see dolphin pods from the boat and
of course our year round
manta ray sightings are phenomenal.
We can just - about guarantee that you'll
see some
manta rays on one
of your course dives!
You will
see whale sharks,
manta rays (the only
manta rays in a U.S. aquarium), and thousands
of other animals.
In recent years this area \ is also
seeing an increasing number
of manta rays.
Manta rays, sharks, colorful coral gardens and submerged boulders are just a few
of the delights you can expect to
see on a dive.
Because there are a lot
of plankton and jelly fish in the waters around Nusa Penida, the majestic
manta rays can be
seen feeding here year - round.
The wall is rife with other intriguing marine life as well, which on one occasion had occupied the last frames
of my film when I turned to
see what seemed like a monstrous apparition - a huge albino
manta ray.
The very largest
of manta rays and good specimens
of spotted eagle
rays are frequently
seen.
In addition to the possibility
of big shark encounters schools
of mobula
rays and
manta rays are frequently
seen throughtout the archipelago.
