If you're thinking about using
ShareOwner's service to build a Couch Potato portfolio, I'll make a couple
of suggestions.
ShareOwner can do this because it makes large «co-op purchases»
of the stocks and ETFs in its inventory at specified times.
ShareOwner is an innovative service that can offer a lot
of value to buy - and - hold investors.
Apparently, it is every direct broker s stated policy not to be responsible for informing its client, you the
shareowner, particularly when proceeding to execute a compulsory sale and surrender
of the client s holdings, without the client s knowledge or authority.
ShareOwner's dollar - based investing service allows investors to acquire fractional shares
of an exchange - traded fund, thereby allowing lower investment amounts.
But at different points I've pulled quickly out
of a position just at the beginning
of a substantial drop (think MFC, HBM, SC), taking profits that would have vanished if I'd been on
ShareOwner.
ShareOwner total fees for one year would be 3 * $ 9.95 * 12 = $ 358.20 for an open account which is 8.5 %
of the purchase price.
ShareOwner total fees for one year would be $ 40 (max) * 12 = $ 480.00 for an open account, which is 11.4 %
of the purchase price.
Canadian
ShareOwner Investments is a different type
of discount broker.
A great way to use
ShareOwner is to take 20 companies you like that they offer each January and do a bulk purchase
of 5 grand split (or whatever you've put away) between those 20... then repeat next year.

of a discount or full service broker.
