I couldn't get
date syrup in my local store so i made my own — 1 cup
of dates soaked in warn water for 30 mins, then drained and put in blender with1 - 1.5 cups water and blended for 2 mins!
I love that the consistency
of a yogurt can be reproduced with
soaked nuts and
dates (it's like dessert!).
Instead
of the
Date Nectar which I can't find in our Whole Foods store, I can make my own by using 1/2 cup
of Medjool
dates soaked for 24 hours in 1/2 cup

The second time I
soaked the

Hi, I use «
date paste» to sweeten drinks — you basically just
soak dates in water until they are soft (for a few hours or overnight), then blend in a blender or food processor until a paste forms, using as much
of the water as required.
They are gluten free with natural sugars from
soaked dates and a dab
of honey, and no added salt.

soaked, pitted

Soak just a few
of them in a bit
of water overnight and they turn into this naturally sugary dream that's also high in fiber, potassium and believe it or not, they're lower in sugar than most all other dried fruits such as
dates and raisins (though I like those too).
All you need to do is blend your
soaked figs (or you can use raisins or
dates if you like), a touch
of water, and some ground, defatted peanut powder which is just whole peanuts that have had the oil removed.
I made mine using a cup
of dates presoaked in some hot water instead
of the sweetners in it some
of the
soaking water instead
of the almond milk and used homemade coconut butter instead
of the jared one and canellini beans (which I have now learned is the italian for white kidney beans which I had never heard
of!).
The most perplexing part
of all was that I had

As the difference is mostly that fresh
dates are softer, I've found that
soaking the equivalent number
of dried
dates in hot water makes them a good substitute for fresh
dates in baking.
