How can we move the purpose
of student work from proving mastery to improving learning?
The teacher utilizes examples
of student work from the previous lesson to review prior learning.
(The potential benefits of providing students with tangible examples underscore the value of saving examples
of student work from performance tasks for use as models in future years!)
Making judgments about student learning and school quality based on a body of work — a select number of pieces
of student work from a number of assessments within a given discipline, provides a much richer and more accurate picture of student learning than a single, disconnected standardized test.
While ideally it is best for teachers to bring their own student work, there are times when it is helpful to examine a class set
of student work from an anonymous teacher and class.

from graduating college, I'm making 70k as a project manager (been
working here for 2 months), putting 10 %

A few
of the many things that jump off
of the pages for me are that it doesn't seem to support
working families with kids (it REPEALS the up to $ 5,000 exclusion
from gross income for dependent care assistance that many
working parents use to subsidize the skyrocketing costs
of child care while they
work) or even those who (like my fantastic law
students at UNLV) are pursuing and paying for higher education.

of St. John's, on the bustling campus
of Memorial University, attended by
students from all over the world.

of the ways in which industry and academia gap can be closed is by giving teacher breaks to
work in industry and come back with the knowledge to share with the
students.This way, the
students will get both the academic and industry knowledge
from the teachers.
