Our own research and that of others show fathers remain a valuable source
of support for breastfeeding mothers, as well as an «untapped» resource for health professionals and lay people whom may be supporting breastfeeding.

mothers often think they can solve an intimate problem such as
breastfeeding because it entails a private part

mother and child, I doubt ANY woman is forcing her child to
breastfeed longer than necessary simply so they can «feel good,» as you are implying.
Certified Lactation Counselors (CLC's) and Internationally Board Certified Lactation Counselors (IBCLC's) exist to provide continuing
support for breastfeeding mothers and have a wealth
of information they can share with you.
To quote myself: If you are one
of those women who can't seem to offer your «

When
mothers choose not to

for very good reasons, they deserve all

support.
It probably would have been easier
for me to
breastfeed exclusively if I'd gotten pregnant at 18 (resulting in an unsuccessful shotgun marriage, thanks to the fact that her parents have means, unlike most young single
mothers» parents) as Elicia did, then had * another * baby right afterward without regard to the stability
of my situation, and not worked, leaving it to the government or my parents to
