Doing this makes us significantly dependent on philanthropy to sustain operations, since very little
of our $ 1.5 million annual operating budget can be offset by paid - for services (pets, extra services, occasional City vouchers for
tame cats only).
It is with community support and compassion that we are able to continue our mission making a difference in the lives

Once caught, homeless free roaming
cats which are
tame can be placed for adoption in homes where they will be protected from the dangers and struggles
of outdoor life.
Most feral
cats can not be
tamed at all or would require months
of focused work — and the outcome is always uncertain.
If

cat is owned, (tags, tattoo, posting on lost / found sites, microchip etc) the
cat will be placed with one
of our wonderfur adoption partners.
This population is made up
of of strays, who are lost or abandoned
tame pet
cats (some

tame state), and ferals, the essentially wild (that is, not socialized to humans) offspring and descendants
of non-neutered strays and pets who were allowed to roam.
Beyond that, donations have come from multiple sources including major gift donors, grant sources, special events, caregivers, the public and limited extent paid - for (

of our volume).

taming process can take weeks or months, or it can end up never happening, but if you believe that giving a
cat a longer life with a home and food is worth that period
of stress, maybe you are fine with
taming a feral
cat.
A large proportion
of cats that are reported to, and taken to, rescue centres are
tame unneutered males once owned pets.
Simply because a
cat came from a
tame ancestor is no evidence that human companionship is necessary for a humane quality
of life.
Simply because free - roaming

cats involves an extreme amount
of patience, time and energy and there is no guarantee that the
cat will become
tame.
