The value
of Membership Rewards points varies according to how you choose to use them.
The Blue for Business ® Credit Card from American Express is part
of the Membership Rewards family of cards.
Given the value
of Membership Rewards, we recommend choosing the 5 % discount, as it works out to a much better value.
The AMEX Gold is part
of the Membership Rewards family of American Express cards.
Another disadvantage
of Membership Rewards is a lack of no fee options, with the Everyday card being the only card without an annual fee.
The benefit of doing this is earning an enormous number
of membership rewards points that can be used towards travel or other purchases.
The Gold Card still comes out as a solid card for consumers who wish to be a part
of the Membership Rewards Program, as well as enjoy some of the benefits exclusive to the gold cards — such as the Hotel Collection's $ 75 credit.
If you find that you don't want to deal with the hassle of managing rewards points, or if none
of the Membership Rewards are particularly of any interest to you, the Blue Cash Everyday ® Card from American Express may be for you.
You should also keep in mind that any returns or credits posted to your account will reduce the number
of Membership Rewards points that are eligible for the bonus.
Generally, the best use for these points is using them for Uber or transferring them to one
of Membership Reward's partner loyalty programs.
How much value you get out
of your Membership Reward points depends on how you choose to redeem them.
The rewards you receive with the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express are part
of the Membership Rewards program.
With the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express being the exception, most
of the Membership Rewards charge and credit cards don't have bonus points for spending outside of using the Amex Travel Website.
Membership Rewards does sometimes offer bonuses for transferring points to airline or hotel partners, which could make up for some of the disadvantages
of Membership Rewards points.

of both Membership Rewards and non-Membership Rewards - earning cards that are currently available on the market.
Look for cards that are a part
of the Membership Rewards, Ultimate Rewards or Citi ThankYou programs.

I believe this would be a poor use
of Membership Rewards.
You can bet some amazing value out
of Membership Rewards points, but how do they stack up compared to other transferable points programs?
For example, ANA rewards, which I showed how to exploit for amazing value here, are only a transfer partner
of Membership Rewards US.
Additionally, you can earn even more value in the form
of Membership Rewards points if you put a lot of spending on the card.
While JAL is not a direct airline partner
of Membership Rewards, it is a partner of the Asia Miles program.
If you want to use your miles with JAL through Asia Miles (1:1 ratio), you can use
any of the Membership Rewards credit cards:
Tripflex Rewards is Memvership Rewards way of giving you a statement credit out
of your Membership Rewards.
This is not a great use
of Membership Rewards points, so only do this if you're close to having enough Hilton points for an award.
Choose from a wide selection
of Membership Rewards gift cards in a wide range of categories like dining, entertainment, and much more.
If you are spending a lot on travel AND you have good use of British Airways Avios or Aeroplan (the valuable uses
of Membership Rewards) then you will do well with this card.
These additional points are in addition to any points you would normally receive for purchases on your Card under the terms
of the Membership Rewards program.
I just received a letter yesterday in the mail informing me that, effective July 1st, 2015, my American Express Business Platinum card will no longer receive 20 %
of Membership Rewards points back when booking a trip with American Express Travel using Pay with Points.
Speaking
