It can be used for so many things, and tastes amazing on top

If you like you can just dust the top

cake with a little powdered sugar or cocoa powder and serve it on its own or with whipped

Let your candy - studded
ice cream layer reset in the freezer an hour or two before topping it off with this luscious, chocolate whipped
cream consisting
of only four ingredients, and a discipline
of saving some for the
cake!
Pre-
cake batter
ice cream I'd opt for mint chocolate chip or chocolate chocolate chip, but the
cake batter flavor has officially made me leave the world
of chocolate
ice cream behind, and never look back!
It is like eating the
ice cream version
of a berry
cake or muffin only the recipe is made purely from fruit.
I am not a coffee drinker but this sounds like it would br great in a lot
of drinks or even on
ice cream or
cake.
This is an
ice cream cake in the true Dairy Queen or Carvel sense — no
cake at all, just layers
of ice cream, whipped
cream, and some fudge sauce.
Before we get started though, let's get this out
of the way — home made
ice cream cakes are not cheap.
You'll need at least two nights to freeze each
of the
ice cream layers, and a third once you've unmolded the
cake.
Rectangles
of chocolate
cake - style cookie on the outside, with super-sweet faux vanilla
ice cream inside.
I served the
ice cream last night over a store - bought vanilla pound
cake and it definitely elevated the plain
cake to be worthy
of company.
Then, once cooled, you literally tear it up (note the bowl
of cake bits above), knead in some chilled coconut milk (yep, that's that
ice cream looking blob on the
cake bits), and roll into bite - sized balls (see above).
I'd never even heard
of cake batter
ice cream till I read Julia's post on Something Missing but apparently it's a thing in San Francisco.
