An advantage to thinking about meetings in terms
of topic sentences?
A useful device in structuring your essay writing is to develop your use
of topic sentences consciously at the beginning of each paragraph.
By doing this, the use
of topic sentences helps you create a structured, unifying subtopic for each paragraph.
The basic idea
of topic sentences is «one paragraph, one idea», with the idea summarized in the first sentence of the paragraph.
Each paragraph should contain one main idea, summarized by each topic sentence; the sequence
of topic sentences should summarize the argument of your college essay.
Do not underestimate the importance
of topic sentences since they lead the reader to the logical conclusion.
All of the example sentences above can be used with students to illustrate the different types
of topic sentences.
For example, these models
of topic sentences inform the reader about a topic and the claim that will be supported in the paragraph:
This will help students get the idea of the purpose
of a topic sentence.
This is generally the supporting sentences
of the topic sentence above.
But, every part in the essay should take account
of a topic sentence and keep up unanimity and consistency amid ideas.
Not exact matches
The
topic is «Discourse and Truth: the Problematization
of Parrhesia,» and the opening
sentences cite Euripides, «Jean Chrisostome,» Plutarch, and Lucian.
On every page
of his seven - hundred - page Johann Sebastian Bach, Geck's heroic scholarship is in evidence but so too are excessive details on minor
topics, incomprehensible
sentences, psychological speculation, and a convoluted construction that whiplashes the reader between events,
topics, and even centuries — and all
of this in a translation that with generosity can be called lumpish.
I remember you Mirosal, you keep repeating yourself over and over using the same
sentences in every other
topics of which is about religion.

topic sentence of Peter Steinfels» extraordinarily valuable survey...
And finally, in the spirit
of Finish - the
Sentence - Friday, and while we're on the
topic of other people's blogs, I'd like to invite fellow bloggers to take a moment to shamelessly promote your site.
However, it is clear that, grammatically speaking, the real subject
of sentence 4, in other words the
topic being discussed, is God, considered as primordial and consequent natures.

The rest
of the essay or response may lack clear
topic sentences.

Sentence level
