The Volkswagen Group intends to phase out the use
of traditional automatic gearboxes in their product range entirely, replacing them with it's advanced Direct Shift Gearbox, or DSG.
These are artificial positions along the cones that mimic the gears
of a traditional automatic gearbox.

Back in the transmission's normal mode the shifts are slurred like a
traditional automatic gearbox, but the same mighty performance is always on tap regardless
of your driving mode.

Like other pure electric vehicles, all variants
of the car come with
automatic / direct drive, so there is no need for a
traditional gearbox.
The Tiago also gets a
traditional shifter, which we think a lot
of drivers who are new to the
automatic gearbox will appreciate and it gets a sport mode.
As in the S8, the new performance SUV channels its reserves through an eight - speed torque converter equipped
automatic gearbox and Audi's
traditional Torsen torque sensing quattro four - wheel drive system, with a torque vectoring function integrated into a so - called Sport Differential to provide individual apportioning
of drive to each
of the rear wheels.
The majority
of Accord sedan buyers probably won't notice the difference from a
traditional automatic gearbox.
