When I first saw the
trailer for this movie I thought it was good to be another awful horror
film, but the twist led by the characters played by Bradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins makes this one
of the most inventive horror
films I've seen in a while.
Do yourself a favor by ignoring the
film's
trailers and onslaught
of ad spots that inadvertently paint Megamind as just another tighted candidate looking
for a free ride.

Well the
film was wide release, so it makes sense there wasn't an entirety
of focus on the specifics, but I still think it would have worked better if it was more like the
trailers professed intentions; doco style, with vignettes
of alien / human scenes that emphasized and helped explain, not found footage either, like
for example, after talking about Wikus in the past tense, it could focus on him
for a bit then move on, but it stuck with him, and the
film changed gears, I just thought it would have been better to focus on other things, as opposed to dumbing the plot down to one man and his battle against the evil government / corporation, and still stay in the doco style, it could have worked, no?
The production spent time creating scenes
for a
trailer they had no intention
of ever being in the finished
film, scenes that badly characterized what kind
of movie it would be.
I imagine other
trailers for the
film were as worthy
of inclusion as this.
