Google is expected to release a more detailed report about the
crash towards the end
of the month, but the incident also highlights one
of the significant challenges
attributed to the development
of autonomous driving
vehicles.
The results
of the investigation showed that 6 percent
of crashes where a
vehicle was towed from the accident scene, 7 percent
of crashes where someone was treated for injuries, 13 percent
of crashes in which someone was hospitalized, and 21 percent
of crashes in which someone died were all
attributed to driver sleepiness or fatigue.
