The kinds
of volcanic events that did actually upset atmospheric composition have not been ocurring for many tens of millions of years, I think the Decaan Traps may have been the most recent (65Myr ago).
It kinda looks like the LIA was caused by a series
of volcanic events and the ~ 60 year «oscillation» inspired by more volcanic activity while the globe was recovering from the LIA.
