At Campi Flegrei itself, an additional obstacle to effective warning is a low public awareness
of volcanic hazard compared with the perceived threat from microseismicity50, 51.
Students then complete a card sort activity on types
of volcanic hazards before classifying them into primary and secondary hazards.

volcanic hazard,» said El Khrepy.
«In contrast to events like hurricanes or earthquakes,
volcanic unrest can last for long periods

hazards that are looming,» said volcanologist Greg Valentine, PhD, a University at Buffalo professor

of volcanic or earthquake
hazards is not the game where you want to be going out and making bold, specific predictions, because we just really don't have the capability to do that,» Klemetti said.
The new

of natural
hazards, human health risks and climate processes — one
