LightHawk is an international group
of volunteer pilots who donate their time to foster conservation efforts.
It's a group made up
of volunteer pilots, who use their own planes, and cover their own fuel and expenses, to transport special needs animals around the country.
Starting at 7 a.m., dogs were carefully loaded aboard planes, and dozens
of volunteer pilots flew them to the waiting arms of rescue organizations up and down the East Coast, with the ultimate goal of finding each dog a forever home.
Each year, thousands
of volunteer pilots fly across all 50 states to rescue animals and bring them to safe shelters, or even their forever homes, miles upon miles away.
