On a
warm spring afternoon, Phil Knight found the time to meet up with me at the Le Germain Hotel in downtown Toronto while in Canada for just a few hours promoting his book
Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator
of Nike.
I start with the beginning
of the event with as many details as possible, to
warming up, putting on my
shoes and even drinking my Progenex Force pre-training formula, all the way to the end
of the event, where my team obviously wins.
It's served on a
warm brioche bun fully dressed with homemade chipotle mayo, sliced tomato, red onions and spring mix, with a side
of crispy

We subsequently made a point this weekend to celebrate the collective joy
of giving and receiving by trimming a Christmas tree with Laurel, purchasing gifts for our school's holiday drive (it was really marvelous to involve Laurel in the shopping process), and depositing several bags
of warm clothing and
shoes to a donation station.
For me that means that a lot
of my
shoes that are suitable for spring, summer and fall get put on the back burner for
shoes that can, let's face it — keep me steady,
warm and dry amongst snow, ice and the worst — salt!
They have one bike each, one

Sometimes at the end
of a long day, all you want to do is sit down, take off your
shoes, and get a nice,
warm foot massage.
