To get started, I used two coats
of white chalk paint on my canvas and let it dry throughly before applying my stencil.

on the toy armoire and my master bedroom window trim, among other things).

Step 3) I traced the heart

white brushstrokes — think
of whitewashed windows or rubbed - out
chalk on blackboards — through which wander black spray -
painted lines
of varying thickness that suggest bent rebar or mangled wire coat hangers.
