For those
of you that don't know me, I'm Chef Dennis and it's my great pleasure today to be here with you today and share a
new cookie
recipe with you.I have to start out by saying that while I'm not really a baker, it is something that I truly enjoy doing.While I have made my fair share
of cakes and pies, cookies are one treat that has eluded me.I do have my one go to cookie, courtesy
of Alice Medrich, but I've pretty much beaten that one into the ground this year, and I knew I needed to expand my cookie repertoire.I started going through my cookbooks looking for inspiration, there were so many
wonderful cookies to choose from, but in the end I decided upon a cookie that I had seen in my wife's December edition
of Real Simple.The cover
of the issue simply stated «30 impressive make - ahead cookies» and as I looked through the magazine, nothing really grabbed me and then I turned the page to the last cookie, and there it was.......
I love the massive variety
of food from some
wonderful cooks, the sweet time to fellowship with good friends, and —
of course — the chance to try out
new recipes on unsuspecting eaters!
Below I have made a yummy AIP friendly lactation cookie
recipe that will be
wonderful treat for yourself or a
new mom friend who is in need
of some breastfeeding support.
Recipes introduce a
wonderful assortment
of ingredients — some
of which may be
new to you — including amaranth, buckwheat, millet, quinoa, and teff flours, and seeds like chia and hemp.
They're a
wonderful way to meet
new food bloggers and collect all sorts
of interesting
new recipes.
And then, just as I was halfway through the early steps
of a totally different hamburger bun
recipe that, if all goes well, will be a
wonderful, unusual complement to these, I dropped that effort completely in the pursuit
of the Light Brioche Buns run in the
New York Times article this week on the elements
of a perfect burger.
In other news, our
wonderful translator, Géraldine Olivo, who has been supplying Golubka readers with French translations
of our
recipes, is coming out with a
new cookbook.
There are so many
wonderful recipes here we can live without
new ones while you take care
of cleaning up.
I had planned a
new kid - friendly sneaky
recipe with hidden vegetables for today's post but after eating this
wonderful bowl
of cool silken tofu with cucumber and warming ginger, garlic and chilli, I had to share.
I just thought you might find it flattering that someone 10 time zones away is sharing your
wonderful recipes and creations with a whole
new world
of people!
Problem is, I frequently forget about this folder with all its rockin»
recipes and just make a bunch
of new stuff, but occasionally I run out
of ideas and I remember my folder and revisit all the
wonderful gems I have made in the past.
