Before nailing in the rungs, apply a little bit

What made the chair revolutionary in 1956 — and what's still fascinating 55 years
on — was the construction
of the plywood shells: Thin layers
of wood veneer were
glued together and shaped under intense heat and pressure.»
Two
of these new products, recently featured at the Mass Timber Conference in Portland, Oregon, lie at opposite ends
of a spectrum: StructureCraft's Dowel Laminated Timber panel, which cuts out nearly all
glues and resins, and Freres Lumber's Mass Plywood Panel, which utilizes
wood veneers instead
of whole lumber and relies
on much more resin than typical CLT.
After you had the visible part
of the frame built (4 pieces
of wood mitered and
glued / nailed together), how did you make the glass and picture secure without cutting in a rabbit into the
wood on the back
of the frame?
I used a 4 ″ round piece
of flat craft
wood from Hobby Lobby
on the underside
of my big Pyrex plate instead
of just
gluing the lamp directly to the plate.

of PVA

Lay the cane
on the chair and knock it into the groove that goes round the perimeter
of the seat, then fill the groove with white PVA
