The annual Bett show is a great platform to demonstrate what technology has to
offer but it's important to remember that those who
visit make up a small percentage of the total number of UK teachers, and many of them are «evangelist teachers», who are already incorporating technology well in the

visits and my own experiences as an instructor, I'd like to

classrooms, either at our school or elsewhere, and
offered ongoing professional development.

The project included research focused on the development and delivery of rigorous curriculum supported by intensive and sustained teacher professional development that included in - school coaching, peer
classroom visits and content intensive STEM Academies In addition to the school day component, the project
offered a STEM - focused, out - of school day program where students completed engineering - focused projects relevant to local communities.
In addition, we also
offer experiences outside of the
classroom walls through End of Year Field Lessons, which are annual off - campus opportunities for our students to
visit college campuses and continue to build cultural capital.
If we go back to the example about encouraging more student talk, it's not enough to just
visit a
classroom, see if a teacher is
offering more opportunities for student talk and checking it off a list.
This activity allows instructional leaders a glimpse into
classrooms that they did not
visit, but more importantly, it gives everyone the opportunity to note the language of the quality feedback and examples of reflective questions
offered to teachers by other instructional leaders.
We
visited classrooms where students were engaged in art, physical education, and literacy instruction, and we had an opportunity to see some of the school's more unique
offerings.
As a coach, part of my role is to
visit classrooms and
offer teachers feedback to help them continually improve instruction.
It was difficult to give meaningful feedback related to these
classroom visits and even harder to
offer support when I observed ineffective instruction.
Highlights of the
visit, included a tour of the Satellite Center which
offers ten career pathways for juniors and seniors; a
visit to R. K. Smith Middle School where CPR — Circle of Power and Respect — is a part of Developmental Design, a social / emotional curriculum, that is
offered in all of the district's middle and elementary schools; and a look at the former commercial space transformed into the Professional Learning Center, complete with professional development
classrooms, a technology lab, and a technology installation center.
We can
visit individual
classrooms (kindergarten, Life Skills, physical education) or
offer grade - level or whole - school assemblies.
Humane Society of West Michigan
offers on - site
classroom visits and off - site
classroom visits for students to learn about HSWM, animal safety and humane education.

visits by our humane educators, we
offer age - specific, downloadable lesson plans, so teachers can fully explore the material in a
classroom setting.
Stores can help further the cause by informing local teachers that this program is out there, by
offering to
visit their
classrooms to discuss comapion animals and their care, or by hosting class trips to the store.
Expanded and completely renovated in 2006, the Center now
offers 9,500 square feet of exhibition galleries, advanced collection storage facilities,
classrooms, a library and archive, and offices for faculty, staff, and
visiting curators and scholars.
MOCAA has a whole floor of
classrooms with a lunchroom to encourage daylong
visits from far - flung schools, and
offers free admission on Wednesday mornings for all South Africans and people from the African continent.
We
