For over 30 years, Duke
Youth Programs, hosted by Duke Continuing Education, has
offered a wide range of intellectually stimulating and fun activities for
middle and high
school students.
And, because we know
middle school isn't the only time for parents to have ongoing conversations with
youth about sexuality topics, we
offer age - appropriate workshops for parents of children in early childhood, elementary and high
school.
The class was recorded as part of the AIB Network's series, «Yippee Kay - Yay Namaste Yoga,» which
offers yoga programs for elementary,
middle and high
school - age
youth.
Beyond lesson plans, bully proofing, conflict management, discipline and academic achievement, Tribes TLC
offers collaborative skills, community agreements, meaningful participation, strategies for integrating curriculum, and professional development in elementary,
middle and high
school, leadership, afterschool
youth development programs and administration.
Once the instructional day ends, students may participate in a myriad of extracurricular sports and activities
offered in partnership with our
middle and high
school after -
school provider,
Youth Policy Institute (YPI).

Some of these include counseling
youth and their families in Worcester, MA, conducting forensic interviews in Twin Falls, ID, providing counseling for
middle schoolers in Belgrade, MT, and
offering stress reduction training in community settings.
The program will increase the
school community's mental health awareness and literacy, which serves as a prevention tool for the community regarding adolescent depression;
offer two - level screening to students in one
middle school and two high
school grades, including universal, self - report screening for all students, followed by in - depth interviews with students who screen as high risk; and communicate with Holliston parents / guardians about
youth depression and resources, provide more significant follow - up (both immediate and long - term) with parents / guardians of high - risk teens, and provide all
school families with access to the Interface Referral Network.
Our program will: increase mental health literacy among the Natick
Middle School community;
offer screening to all 7th and 8th grade students, make referrals as needed; and communicate with Natick
Middle School parents / guardians about their teens,
youth depression, and possible interventions.
