Following an inspection of
official exam data by BBC Radio 4's Today programme, it has been revealed that the number of pupils receiving extra time in state schools is less in comparison to private, with one in eight being given a time boost.
Massachusetts education
officials have released
data that they hope will counteract what they say is a false public perception that most students in the class of 2003 who haven't yet passed the state's high school exit
exams are members of minority groups or come from poor families.
All three studies achieved very high response rates on all
data collections, whether teacher surveys, classroom observations, collection of teachers» scores on college entrance
exams or precertification
exams, student achievement tests, collection of student
data from district administrative records, principal surveys, or interviews with program
officials.
