There are a million foods out there that are bad for us: trans fats, hydrogenated
oil, refined sugar, bleached flour, artificial food colorings, artificial food flavorings, hormone - filled heavy cream / butter, corn - fed cows locked in crates, chickens that are 5x the
weight they are supposed to be so that McDonalds can survive (grrr, why can't they
go under?!)
I used the ratio from GF Gobsmacked, but by measuring cup, not by
weight... Used what I had in the house, so I used 1 cup of Celemix Rice Bread Mix (I buy it in Canada when I
go up - since there was no starch in it, I added 1/4 c of Tapioca Starch to the dry) 1 1/4 cup of Vanilla Almond Milk, 2 eggs and 1/4 cup canola
oil.
:) I feel like I am consuming enough calories for my body
weight (over 3000 kcal / day with 62 kg or 136 pounds) but the amount of food to consume is very unappealing as I
go 100 % healthy (not even olive
oil).
As far as the science
goes, coconut
oil has properties that will help you lose
weight.
There is overwhelming scientific evidence that a low carb Mediterranean - style diet — one rich in vegetables, olive
oil, nuts and the occasional glass of wine or bite of dark chocolate — is better for
weight loss, blood sugar control and improving cholesterol than
going on a low fat diet.

Now, before I
go any further, let me make one point: coconut
oil is very high in saturated fat and calories, BUT, neither of those things are unhealthy NOR do they cause
weight gain, contrary to what well meaning, mainstream health gurus will tell you.
Last time I did a ketogenic diet, I felt a lot better but I lost
weight (
went down to 112 lbs, which is far too low) despite, as you recommend, some starch (about 30g) plus plenty of MCT / Coconut
oil.
While numerous studies have shown the beneficial effect of olive
oil in the diet likely due to the anti-inflammatory nature of the phenols, it is advisable to
go easy on this traditional fat if
weight loss is your goal.
I'm not
going to the gym but I do 4 - 5 / wk of body
weight / dumbbells exercises in the morning on an empty stomach with only 1T of mct
oil (burns 200 - 300 cal).
If a manufacture recommends a certain
weight of the
oil for the engine, lets say 5W - 40 and instead 5W - 30 was used, would the gas mileage of the engine increase as the piston does not have to do as much force
going up the walls and down?
