you could connect a normally - closed
oil pressure sensor in series with the start button - the start button would only operate if there was no oil pressure (= engine not running).
P0523 trouble code means there is an issue with the
engine oil pressure sensor often due to faulty wire connection or wrong engine oil.
This could cause the oil pressure light to come on by grounding out
the oil pressure sensor, simulate button clicks that you didn't make, throw various codes that the engine doesn't actually have, etc..
Not saying it is
an oil pressure sensor, Im saying that sensors like these are similar in the fact that they can degrade and fail to provide an adequate seal, no matter what they measure.
The oil pressure sensor (OPSU) leaking through the sensor is also common.
Imagine a new car and parts changed include: Gear Oil Seal,
Oil Pressure Sensor, AC Comp, Indicator Switches.
The problem also in
oil pressure sensor.
At around 92,000 miles all the sensors started going out and I had to replace them all (camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, O2 sensors,
oil pressure sensor, etc.).
