Using essential
oil scented soap in my DIY recipe solved this problem somewhat, but I realized that the scent didn't stick around after the clothes were dried.

oil since it really calms my itchy skin, so I would say you would not need as much
oil when you make the
soap or maybe none at all.
I used a
scented Dr. Bronners
soap and added about half the essential
oil, and it came out great.
Having said that please also remember that lime essential
oil does tend to lose its
scent very quickly in cold processed
soap, so you will need to add 1/2 a teaspoon of benzoin or vitamin E at trace along with the essential oils, this will act as a fixative.
To
scent your
soap, use either a fragrance
oil or an essential
oil.
Add 2 Tbsp of Dr. Bronner's
soap (I used the peppermint
scented kind), 1 1/2 Tbsp of grapeseed
oil and 12 drops of essential
oil (stay away from citrus oils as it may interact poorly with the plastic container) into the empty bottle.
I have a question, I can use lemon essential
oil, or any citrus
oil, on the unscented Castile
soap to make my own
scent?
If you want to
scent your
soap with a fragrance
oil or an essential
oil, I recommend cutting your
soap into chunks, melting, and then adding the fragrance before you get started.

soaps that are made with natural ingredients like shea butter, coconut
oil, and cocoa butter, and
scented with essential oils.
