old who has just been disabled out of work

painted all of my life, I come from a family of 12 so we didn't get a chance to go to college I left school at 14 with nothing more than a second place in an art competition
and every time I tried to take a course in art at night school my work hours would change usually just after I had handed over my # 100 or so.

At the time I
painted it, it felt uncool
and I abandoned it immediately for the rigidity of the grid, removing the mess, but after doing the Spot catalogue raisonné I've felt really
drawn to that first
painting and knew I'd revisit it eventually — maybe it's because I'm getting
older.
A former illustrator, Leveille has been attracted to a figurative style of
drawing and painting and has influences ranging from
Old Masters like Titian
and Fragonard to contemporary artists like Walter Robinson
and Kara Walker.
