We can predict a GLOBAL temperature within ---- degrees based on 600,000 year
old ice core samples.
The analysis focuses on two ice cores drilled in 2013 from Mount Hunter in Alaska's Denali National Park, and

The work by Vinther and colleagues in Southern Greenland is therefore key to helping calibrate the Greenland
ice core records, and impressively, the correlations to the
older data are as good as to the recent record, allowing us to have a little more confidence in the even longer term proxy data for this region.

Although the time resolution of

ice cores is not enough to preserve seasonal cycles, there is no doubt that the seasonal cycle, which is mostly caused by photosynthesis and respiration of ecosystems on land, was similar to what we observe today.
The
older than Mauna Loa results of CO2 contents used in the models adopted by IPCC are
ice core proxy values of carbon dioxide content, which are incompatible with any one of directly measured values, already therefore that, even at their best, they are averages of some centuries.
At 72 meter depth (for the Law Dome
ice cores) the CO2 level in average still is only 7 years
older than the air at the surface.
They report larger variations in measured CO2 with per - cm vertical distance in younger
ice earlier in an
ice core clathrate zone, and smaller variations in

Proxy trees that are several hundred years
