At the bar, a repurposed 200 year
old Amish barn
oak wood wall is lined with delicate bronze and gold mirror pieces, while the
dining rooms allure with rich redwood, a vast view of Sunset Boulevard, and vintage artwork.
I spray painted an
old rocker we had from an auction, a metal table from a garage sale, an
oak bench from our previous
dining room set and a kids» chair.
As soon as we closed on our house, we started several projects immediately — we replaced our roof, removed the scruffy edges on the extra carport (aka «winnie hole»), added hardwood (red
oak) floors in the living room,
dining room, kitchen / den, and laundry room to match the floors in the back half of the house, screened and recoated the hardwood floors in the back half of the house, replaced the two sliding glass doors from the kitchen / den out onto the porch with French doors, removed doors between the kitchen and
dining room and between the den and entry way, painted the wood panelling in the den, painted the cabinets in the kitchen, replaced the
old cabinet hardware, replaced the sink and range / hood, replaced a single wall oven with a double one, added granite tile kitchen countertops, added a beadboard backsplash, replaced a few light fixtures, added a chair rail in the
dining room, added crown moulding in the living room and
dining room, and painted lots of rooms.
Glancing around we saw classic toys,
old - fashioned candies, apparel, home and garden accessories on our way toward the
dining room, which is adorned with
oak tables and chairs.
