As a major old school Sonic fan ever since I was 5, I can genuinely say I am very excited about this game.

That said, I'm not going to throw in the towel and think that Sega has spent all this time appealing to our nostalgia and carefully crafting this gorgeous looking game just for us old - school fans to turn our back on them because we don't agree with some stylistic changes.

Like Ruby said before, its impossible to please everyone with one game, but this game looks like it's gonna please A LOT of old school and [probably] newer fans (and it'll probably end up getting great reviews).

This is his baby so saying Sega can screw it up is a big understatement Christian is the ultimate old school Sonic fan and it is his persistence that gave this masterpiece life, NOT SEGA.

Old school fans may be disappointed that the game doesn't strictly follow the same mechanics as, say, The Secret of Monkey Island.
