I used the chair and created a little desk / vanity / book nook with
an old white shelf we had in the garage.

The
shelf over the toilet had been painted before and it was dark, too, so I found Linen
White chalk paint spray and fixed that
old shelf right up!
My kitchen is still a work in progress but the
old oak cabinets will be painted
white and the cabinet to the right of the sink above the dishwasher and between the window and patio door will be taken down for open
shelves (another inspiration from your last kitchen).
I hate a
white pantry in my
old house that looked a lot like that and I had to use placements under all the cans to keep the
shelves from getting all dinged up.
This
shelf unit was made using
old pine floorboards and simply painted in a distressed
white finish.
P.S. I've found an
old kitchen cupboard door, windowless, that is going to be painted antique
white, the color of our wood molding, and placed on the «Christmas
shelf.»
I'm thinking denim blue for my recycled
old kitchen cabinets with dark stained wood tops,
white walls, pegboards and
shelves.
