Watching Django Unchained, it's easy to imagine that Quentin Tarantino had such a blast making his last picture, the ebullient Holocaust fantasia Inglourious
Basterds, that he decided to take his whole blood - spattered historical tent show
on the road, this time putting down stakes in antebellum Dixieland.
Then again, Inglourious
Basterds was not nominated either (as in the CDGs), so perhaps even exceptional period work is not enough any more; same for Jenny Beaven's contribution
on Sherlock Holmes.

On Thursday, February 25, Quentin Tarantino hosted a below - the - line panel for crew members of Inglourious
Basterds who were nominated for Academy Awards.
Here's an interesting portrait of Howard Berger, a special makeup effects artist who's worked

Basterds, and the work he does to transform actors into, well, monsters.
According to a casting call
on MovieCastingCall.org, Inglourious
Basterds actor Daniel Brühl will play Baron Zemo.
Indeed, it might be the weakness of the field that allows for lesser work from Quentin Tarantino to slide in, as «Inglourious
Basterds» is still chugging along, has a home video release
on the way next month and is the only original screenplay contender in The Weinstein Company's stable.
Brühl went
on to star in several more American films, including Inglourious
Basterds, Rush, The Fifth Estate, and A Most Wanted Man.
The films have all been available
on Blu - ray before and those discs are essentially reproduced for this set, supplements and all, from Tarantino's commentary

According to Collider, «Inglourious
Basterds» star Bratt Pitt was considered for the role, though he has since moved
on.
Sounding like a cross between Burt Lancaster's «The Train» and «Inglourious
Basterds,» «Monuments Men» was written by Heslov and Clooney and is based
on Robert M. Edsel's non-fiction novel of the same name.
The two - disc release of «Inglourious
Basterds» isn't quite as heavy
on bonus material as fans would probably like, but it's still better than we're used to seeing from a Quentin Tarantino film.
«Django» has stormed the holiday movie season
on the back of promising early reaction as well as both the stellar box - office and critical reception from «Inglourious
Basterds,» but as Tarantino explains in a new Playboy interview, he can predict the success waning.
