Not exact matches
If baby doesn't like tummy time, the
Bumbo seat may be a more pleasant way to keep baby from laying
on his or her back too much.
A recall of
Bumbo Seats was initiated in 2007 because some parents used the seats
on high surfaces and their babies were injured by falling from a counter or table.
Despite the earlier recall and the new warning labels, parents are still using the
Bumbo seat
on high surfaces, so more babies have been injured since the recall.
As long as your baby is in a seated, upright position, you can feed her just about anywhere — in a
Bumbo, in a bouncer,
on your lap... But we think you'll probably want to get an actual highchair; it's nice to have a dedicated seat for baby, and having that big highchair tray makes a great food - catcher!
The
Bumbo Multi-Seat (Buy
on Amazon), for example, has a tray, in addition to the harness, that can be used for feeding or playtime.
Do not use
Bumbo Seats
on high surfaces, ever, or leave your baby unattended.
The
Bumbo Seat is not to be used
on high surfaces such as tables or countertops!

Even more troubling are CPSC reports showing that some babies ended up with skull fractures after falling from a
Bumbo seat
on the floor.
Using the
Bumbo chair
on top of another elevated surface, even if that surface isn't very tall, increases the angle, distance, and force of a fall for your baby if he or she should tip the chair over or somehow fall out.

on something, this would be it... it was a gift for us, but I don't know that I would call it a necessity.)
The
Bumbo:
On holiday recently we saw a family who had taken their
Bumbo to the beach.
When I caught myself singing «Baby got stuck in the
bumbo» with no baby around I had to turn
on the grown up music!!
Aria did tummy time
on the activity mat, moved
on to the bouncy seat and finished her stay with the
Bumbo.
I agreed with every point, especially the bloody
bumbo and those stupid flip flops I've just bought that he takes off and just chews
on.
She never had to worry about her hitting her head
on the floor if she fell backwards and unlike the
bumbo chair she could reach toys
on the floor to play with her self.
Don't spend too much money
on «baby holders» (bouncy seats, swings,
bumbo chairs, jumpers, activity mats etc.).
Bumbo's website says its product — which props up an infant in a sitting position before he may be physically ready to do it
on his own — has developmental benefits and enhances posture.
Bumbo is not to be used
on tabletop surfaces from which infants can fall.
The design of the
Bumbo Booster Seat allows toddlers to be seated
on an adult chair.
First of all, it's less expensive than the
Bumbo, and it includes a tray with toys
on it that you can rotate around.
I do as much tummy time as possible but I do use the
bumbo when I need my hands free and it's not safe to wear baby (i.e. cooking dinner) to avoid other baby gear that puts pressure
on the head.
There are different perspectives
on how appropriate it is to place babies in «containers» that prop them up or help them maintain positions they can not yet assume
on their own (such as the
Bumbo you mentioned and others like the Summer Infant Superseat).
February 2012 KID and other consumer organizations have called
on CPSC to recall the
Bumbo child seat after many serious injuries.
My bunco group is always passing around baby gear —
Bumbo seats, travel swings, ride -
on toys, etc... these things are usually in use by some member of the group!
As for things
on the registry that are useless in my opinion — wipe warmers, bouncy seats (mine used a swing, but I don't think I ever needed both),
Bumbo seats (# 2 popped himself right out, thankfully he was
on the floor in an open area), baby powder (I have no idea why that is still
on registry lists), those formula dispensers with three sections (mine always seemed to «leak» from one section to another).
