My BOV is between the turbo and the MAF - actually, before the intercooler - so venting to atmosphere has no effect

MAF for the next two weeks, in order for your aerobic system to «catch up,» and so
on and so
on.

After studying
MAF for quite some time, i've never really seen any advice
on the amount of weekly training hours required to make aerobic gains using
MAF.
It's time to move
on to the following step of the
MAF Online Program.
1 and 2) Your best bet is to take your monthly
MAF tests in a climate - controlled environment such as a gym throughout the year,
on a treadmill.
While you are training anaerobically, do a
MAF test every week instead of every month, and keep an eye
on your speed.

More intensity than
MAF and the anaerobic engine works more and more, from now

I think it would be a really cool test to do it for real and to measure the RQ (i think this is the name — where you measure how much fat or sugar you burn) to really find the
MAF HR for each situation alone: - one where slowly and smoothly increasing the power
on the bike using both legs, - one where doing the same thing but only with one leg.
So, this cyclist has a higher -
MAF - HR while
on the bike (cause powerful muscles), and a lower -
MAF - HR while hand pedaling
on the sailing yacht (cause much less powerful muscles)-- this because the fuel system adapts to the engine's power.
Which means that we have not one - single - official -
MAF - HR, but we have many
MAF - HR depending
on muscles» power (a combination of muscles number / size / strength).
It's just the same thing you said it very well here: «The reason the anyone's heart rate exceeds
MAF under every circumstance except for activity that lasts under 2 seconds is because the brain recruits anaerobic muscle fibers
on top of the aerobic fibers that are already working.
(amazing to see sometimes you have spent 10 - 20 % of a run above 148 HR if you don't keep an eye
on it)-- Conduct regular
MAF tests
on both bike and run (I use watts for bike and pace for run)-- Keep blocks of anaerobic work no longer than 2 - 3 weeks then return to aerobic work only.
Returning to US tonight so a bit of a moot point, but what is the
MAF stance

During the first weeks of
MAF training, during which I did not really follow any particular dietary regime, I lost weight and gained a little «performance»
on my runs.
When I run under my
MAF, I do not experience any of the stress
on my lungs.
For instance, I've been doing a «Body by Science» resistance workout once a week followed immediately by a few 30 sec exercycle sprints with 5 minutes warmup, interval and cool down; a full day off for recovery since this is fairly intense and then 3 or 4 times a week I'm doing 30 minutes
on exercycle at
MAF (180 — age 59 = 121 HR).
