I might not be ready to spend more than $ 600
on a book cover design at this juncture of my writing career, but those designers are impressive and perusing their portfolio is a lot of fun.I wouldn't rule out using their services in the future if my success in this business means I can budget around $ 700 - $ 1,000 for a book cover design.

You should ALWAYS get your proofreading done,
at the very least, and preferably some editing too if you can afford it, and next
on your shopping list should be a good
cover design from a
book design specialist.

You'll want to start by looking
at a few professionally
designed book covers that you like and noting the layout of the text
on the page.
Kreider's piece took a stab
at what seems like a requirement in
book cover design on a genre - by - genre basis.

on designing a great
cover for the
book size you plan to print
at (8 × 5.25, 6 × 9, 5 × 5 or whatever) and just use the same ratio for your Kindle
