on this in myself (I'm 70) and I find that I have to work really hard and exclusively emphasize
high fibre foods (flax seeds, raspberries, beans, winter squash, steel cut oats, etc)
just to make it to around 70 gm in a 100 % low
fat, whole food vegan
diet with no added fibre (like oat bran, etc).
I figured I'm
just going to be weight training and I want to be lean, so I'd go
on a lower carb,
higher fat,
higher protein
diet since I don't need the carbs and it would be easier for me to stay lean.
