The overall objective of the
Allergen Bureau is to share information and experience within the food industry
on the
management of food
allergens to ensure consumers receive relevant, consistent and easy to understand information
on food
allergens.
The University of Manchester is running a short course
on Food
Allergen Analysis and
Management, using a blended learning unit aimed at professionals and graduates who wish to develop their practical skills and theoretical knowledge in this area.
Current clinical
management for asthma focuses
on reducing lung and airway inflammation triggered by
allergens, such as house dust mites, mold, etc..
In a report of the study's findings, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association
on March 6, researchers compared professional pest
management treatments plus education with education alone and found no significant differences in asthma symptoms or mouse
allergen exposure between the two groups.
