When you add in the game's dodge mechanic, the combat takes
on an arcadey, Dark Souls - lite (very) type of feel.
Controls work well on a pad, and combat wisely focuses
on arcadey slashing, rather than restrained, turn - based battles.
Got this with PS Plus, I'm not big
on arcadey / side scrolling style games, but this is quite fun.
The handling is focused firmly
on arcadey goodness as you can fling cars into bends at high speed and happily slide around them with liberal use of the throttle, brake and steering.

The Vs. series,
on the other hand, has always been a little more streamlined than Street Fighter, and while the actual amount of balancing attack, strength, and special move tweaking is no doubt as intricate and meticulous as the myriad systems in place in, say, Super Street Fighter IV, the
arcadey likes of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 or Tatsunoko vs. Capcom have always seemed more accessible and entertaining than their hardcore Capcom cousins.
The combat
on the ground is very floaty and
arcadey in a Dynasty Warriors kind of way, as are the various glides, ziplines, and bounces off of awnings Avil can use to navigate levels vertically and horizontally.
From the moment I played Ace Combat 4
on the PlayStation 2, I was hooked
on these story heavy,
arcadey flight sim games.
Thunder Wolves, an action -
arcadey chopper game in the vein of the classic Strike games released
on June 8 for 800 MSP.
Hall of Meat returns and takes
on an even more
arcadey feel along with the ability to hit random passers by, and certain things are now more over the top which has given the game a very slight Tony Hawks feeling.

With physics set to the lowest and semi-automatic weight transfer in place MXGP is very forgiving, creating a more

Showdown offers a more
arcadey experience than past Dirt titles, focusing
on aggressive smash up events, ludicrous figure of eight tracks and generally having a hell of a lot of fun.
Racing games are two - a-penny these days, Gran Turismo set the world
on its path in the late 90's with imitators taking things to a more hardcore simulation style, or going more
arcadey, come along in recent years, taking the shine away from Polyphony Digital's trend setter.

While the game is cartoony,
arcadey and seemingly
on the light - hearted side of the artistic spectrum, it highlights a very real and serious issue.
Combat is less
arcadey and button mashy than previous iterations, and akin to a more approachable Dark Souls in some ways, while the storytelling is focused
on telling a more human and emotional tale as opposed to the nu - metal rage of the previous God of War games.
Running isn't as
arcadey as it has been in past iterations of Madden, so when you actually break through the defense
on a dive play it actually feels much more rewarding.
The vibrant selection of colours and multi-coloured patterns
on screen give Fruit Ninja a fun and
arcadey feel.
Rules of the sport such as illegal overtaking, causing collisions and being a general menace
on the road are all included and can be daunting for those more used to
arcadey experiences.
It doesn't mean the game is perfect by any means, as some will find it too
arcadey with all assists
on (turning them off makes it way more difficult to handle but we haven't had time to test the handling withtout the driving aids thoroughly).
We already know that Forza 6 and likely a new Gran Turismo are already
on the way, but that leaves room for a more
arcadey car game like Need for Speed.
