This «free» meal is too good to pass up for whale sharks, which can be seen feeding
on the baitfish around the bagans all year round.
As we push off, a pair of dolphins troll lazily back and forth no more than 20 feet away, lunching
on baitfish discarded by fishermen along the canal banks.

They feed mostly
on plankton, pelagic crustaceans, squid and tiny
baitfish, as well as sardines and anchovies, just by moving through the water with mouths open wide.
