The majority of our applicants are hardworking people that came upon hard times financially when their pet had an illness or injury that treatment is outside of what they could afford, a senior citizen or U.S. veteran that is
on a fixed income, a disabled adult or child's
service dog, or a person that has high medical bills due of their own when their
dog or cat
became injured or sick.
Rotts»n Pups Rescue is also committed to: * Providing free
dog food to pet owners who have fallen
on hard times; * Educating pet owners about the benefits and the necessity of sterilizing their animals; * Assisting pet owners in the location of low - cost spay / neuter clinics and veterinary
services; * Teaching of the importance of socializing current and / or adoptive pets; * Offering all necessary tools for persons to
become responsible pet owners.
On October 24th 4
dogs joined 11 inmate trainers at Valley State Prison in Chowchilla, California and began the journey to
become service dogs for Veterans.
America's VetDogs» puppy with a purpose, Charlie, has made regular appearances for 15 months
on NBC's TODAY morning show as he grew and trained to
become a
service dog.

The program is a win - win for all involved and positively transforms the lives of at - risk youth and homeless
dogs, whether they go

become service dogs for those in need or well - loved pets in a forever home.
Several went

become service dogs or therapy
dogs.
Through touching stories and photographs, the book celebrates the lives of
dogs (and one cat) who were rescued from shelters and went
on to
become not just pets, but therapy,
service, and search - and - rescue
dogs.
