That's why it's not unusual for parents of
food allergic eaters to focus so much
on making sure there are no traces of a
certain allergen (which is the number one priority), that they do not concern themselves with other ingredients — allergens, toxins,
food additives and colorings, that could be contributing to other, seemingly unrelated health issues that their child is facing as well.
Many parents are worried about the possible effects of
certain food additives on their children, and they're often surprised to learn that the FDA does not test and approve each of the literally thousands of
additives in our
food supply.
Colon cancer occurs when high levels of dietary vegetable oils and hydrogenated fats, along with
certain carcinogens, are acted
on by
certain enzymes in the cells lining the colon, leading to tumor formation.14 This explains the fact that in industrialized countries, where there are many carcinogens in the diet and where consumption of vegetable oils and carcinogens is high, some studies have correlated meat - eating with colon cancer; but in traditional societies, where vegetable oils are absent and the
food is free of
additives, meat - eating is not associated with cancer.
