INFLUENZA OUTBREAK DRIVES UPTICK IN US TELEMEDICINE VISITS: Healthcare systems are showing an increasing reliance
on telemedicine providers to alleviate
emergency rooms during illness outbreaks, according to virtual
care delivery service Teladoc.
Over the next few years, count
on some walk - in urgent -
care centers to evolve into true standalone
emergency rooms and for ambulances to increasingly head there instead of to hospital ERs, particularly in the case of certain types of injuries (such as wounds or broken bones).
