You know those days when you don't want to turn
on the oven or do any real cooking
on the stove but you could really go for some
good old - fashioned cheesy
carb - loaded comfort food?
They are in general extremely healthy as like us they eat loads of Thai vegetables and superfood spices such as fresh turmeric, galangal, etc but some vegetarians we know are what they call «junk food vegetarians» that don't have a
well balanced diet and go nuts
on carbs, especially sweets.
It is very
good on pita but you can also lose the
carbs and just eat it in a lettuce wrap.
I don't think the boys can imagine anything
better than a midnight feast of fries, and I'm not going to lie, the meal also comes with a hidden agenda: I'm hoping that the
carb / cheese / gravy combo
on their plates will lull them into a sleepy slumber.
The meal options I came up with had to be: # 1 things that would be fairly easy to prepare (I wasn't about to take an extra hour
on Sunday to make something elaborate), # 2 had to be foods I could easily manipulate the nutritional profile for (ensuring a balance of protein,
carbs, and fat), # 3 the food had to store
well in the fridge or freezer, # 4 they had to reheat
well in either the toaster or microwave OR be eaten cold right from the fridge, and # 5 ideally, they needed to be things she could easily eat in the car
on the way to school (remember, it takes us at least 20 minutes with no traffic to get to school so eating in the car gives us even MORE time to sleep lol).

well carbs in general) this is
on a must try list.
However, since Life Taste's
Good got my
on a low
carb kick I've been looking for ways to make my favorite recipes low
carb.
You'll notice that
on Paleo you won't be missing classic dishes like pasta or spaghetti, you just sub in foods that are
better for you so you get more vitamins and minerals, with fewer calories and
carbs.
There are several brands of tortilla's
on the market now which are low
carb and low calorie, especially
good for diabetics.

on more than 30 new low -
carb dishes added to the menu, including low -
carb cheesecake, burgers in high - fiber tortilla wraps, and other low -

I personally work out 6 times a week, so I guess that would mean I'd have to
carb up
on all of those days... not sure that would work all that
well!
And try not to think about the
carbs — we don't need that kind of negativity in our lives when there's so much
good on the plate!

Well I know I'm
on the right track with reducing the
carbs at dinner since they already came home today and told me they had crackers at snack, bagels at lunch, and oreos for treat!!
So far so
good for me and while my diet normal consists of clean low
carb and paleo eating, I had indulged
on a little too many grain free treats over the holidays.
Before anyone thinks I'm going
on some
carb - eliminating diet or something, I
better just stop and say that I'm in no way cutting grains from my diet.
That's because sweet potatoes have more
carbs than zucchini but that's a
good thing as sweet potatoes are healthy and it's
good carbs you're eating:)(see a bit more

All the delicious protein, healthy fats, fibre,
good carbs and an array of vitamins and minerals our body needs, right there
on a single plate!
My drizzled chocolate was pretty ugly (I've never been
good at «pretty» food), and dipping them probably would have been easier, but they taste amazing and the macros
on them are pretty much where I wanted them (165 cal, 4 net
carbs, 13.5 g fat and 6.5 g protein for each ball).
