A few weeks ago, I posted a question
on Facebook: «What are your favorite
holiday cookies?»
I've gone
on and
on about how we never had
holiday cookies at all, but here she was with a suggestion: gingerbread men with chocolate buttons.
I expect to make a few more batches of these through the fall and then the
holiday season — not just to give out as gifts, but to keep around the house as well, in the hopes that if I have them around snack
on I'll be less inclined to consume my supply of Halloween candy or
holiday gifting
cookies.
Packed with the right amount of molasses and spices, these ginger
cookies are crispy
on the edges, tender and chewy in the center and begging to be the center of your
holiday cookie plate!

Now, I realize most people focus their

I'm baking my favorite
holiday cookies that I make year after year but have never shared here
on the blog.
I borrowed this idea from Dominique Ansel's recipe in Food and Wine and used ingredients I already had
on hand from earlier bakes of these Biscotti and Bakewell Mini Tarts — combining the best of both worlds into a very special
holiday cookie, indeed!
As much as I love
holiday baking and
cookies (blame my Bavarian genes), I love your take

Now, I don't remember Nana ever making shortbread
cookies, but she often had a blue tin of them
