on how to spend billions that Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed be used to fight
homelessness, advocates and their allies are pummeling the governor for breaking a promise.
As part of the Home Office crackdown, people have lost out
on jobs, benefits and access to vital healthcare -
with some even being forced into
homelessness.
RuthAnne Visnauskas, Commissioner of New York State Homes and Community Renewal said, «Today's announcement builds
on Governor Cuomo's commitment to ensuring that working families, seniors, people
with disabilities, and those who have experienced
homelessness have high - quality, affordable, safe places to call home.
De Blasio, who plans to travel to Albany Wednesday for the governor's speech, said he plans to meet in person
with Cuomo and the legislative leaders to discuss not only
homelessness but also the city's plans
on housing, affordable housing and education aid.
Cuomo has been clashing
with de Blasio for over a year
on a wide range of issues including
homelessness, higher taxes
on the wealthy, pre-K education cost, minimum - wage hikes, and efforts to win Democratic control of the Senate.
