tested the injector plug with light bulb and a multimeter during the ignition and startup but there is no 12 V on them (the black wire has no voltage in reference to plus or minus side of battery and the red wire has 1.2 V in reference to ground)
See if you can find a way to get access to the wire that is powered in the on / run position of the ignition switch.
The usual idea is that with 2 wires; one is ignition controlled 12v and goes to the resistor (block on the side with two terminals) so that the coil receives about 9v during normal running.
Also correct voltage on yellow - black when its attached to wire harness and the ignition...

The ignition wires are generally only intended to power the ignition - if you want to run anything else you are better off taking an appropriate feed from the fuse box, or a relayed feed from the battery, depending on the power draw of the intended application.
There is a brown wire that comes from the ignition, when the key is in the «on» position this brown wire gives 12.6 v to the starter relay, when I try to start the engine, the brown wire only supplies ~ 8ish volts to the starter relay, there is also a black wire the goes to the starter relay...

2 - ignition voltage comes to the spark plugs (remove one of the s.plug caps and hold it close to a metal surface on the engine and ask your friend to crank the engine to see if spark exist) If there is no spark, refer to the car manual (ignition system wiring drawings) to see related fuse / relay / diodes.
So my question is this, if I change the set up so the radio is wired through the ignition system will there be significantly less drain on the battery when the van experiences long periods of inactivity than I experience now by just turning off the radio?
